My Algae Eating Crew

A Farlowella Catfish (Farlowella acus). They do a good job on various types of algae on my rocks and glass.

A full shot of the Farlowella. My parents think he looks like a dragon.

An Otocinclus catfish (Otocinclus affinis). Great for brown algae.

A Hisonotus leucofrenatus (Otocinclus "niger" according to my LFS)

A Hisonotus leucofrenatus with an algae eating shrimp in the background.

One of my Siamese Algae Eaters (Crossocheilus siamensis). They are much bigger now. They are the only algae eaters that go after my flake food, but are constantly foraging on the plants, driftwood, and rocks.

An Algae eating shrimp, or Amano shrimp (Caridina japonica). I thought they were goners, but when I pulled out a lot of plants after a nasty problem with an invasive moss or algae that came on my driftwood, I found 3 of them. There are probably more. Since the cleanup, this one has been quite visible in the tank. He has grown immensely, and dwarfs all of my Otocinclus cats.
